The Rotary Club of Falmouth gathered on Tuesday June 27, 2023 at Sopranos by the Sea in Falmouth to induct new President, Amy Leonardi and the new board of directors. Past President Garth Smelser began the evening by highlighting the major accomplishments in the past fiscal year including over 3,500 club service hours and over 75% of the budget being spent on the local and international community. President Amy Leonardi thanks Past President Garth for his hard work giving him a Rotary watch so that he always keeps the club on time and remembers to make each moment count. President Amy then gave a speech regarding her goals for the year which align with RI President Gordon McInally's goals of creating hope in the world through mental health, girl empowerment and peace with President Amy's emphasis on the youth in particular both locally and internationally.  President Amy stated: "The  truth is that service unto others does not feel like work, it does not feel like a burden, a demand or exhausting.  It feels as natural as breathing. I know this is a familiar feeling to all of you in this room as it is to all of those who are called to serve. This is because we are nourishing our hearts and souls in our act of doing service. Being called to serve is a great honor to be able to share our gifts to help benefit the many." She then ended her speech quoting Dr. Martin Luther King, "recognize that he who is the greatest among you shall be your servant." She challenged the club to be this servant in all that Rotarians do in the club, in our homes, in our community and worldwide.
