Historic immigration of Azoreans to Falmouth

Lewis "Lew" White is a fourth generation descendant of Azorean immigrants from the islands of Sao Miguel and Pico. He attended public schools in Falmouth, Massachusetts and graduated from Northeastern University in Boston where he studied physics and mathematics.

Lew's book, "Sopas - A brief history of Portuguese islanders, the Cape Cod town of Falmouth, and the Feast of the Holy Ghost", is rooted in childhood experiences, a lifetime of oral histories, years of cooking at the festa, and personal studies of published and unpublished sources.
