Kat Estes, another accomplished Falmouth High School Student, was recognized as Student of the Week.

Special guests included Ann Prior of Falmouth Newcomers accompanied by Tommy Leonard of Falmouth Road Race fame.  We heard wonderful things about the Falmouth Walk and how funds support non-profits in town.

Members Pete P., Bill K, Sari B. and Nick N. expounded on all the great things coming up on the Rotary calendar and service projects taking place at other venues.

Read the bulletin and wander through the photo journals to learn more.

Jim L was pleased to introduce our student of the week, Katherine Estes, who was accompanied by her mother, Jean. Jim had Katherine's extensive three (3) page resume and read from only parts of it. It was all impressive and particularly for one so young. Katherine is a member of any number of Honor Societies (National, Math, Art, and more), has won National awards for Spanish and Latin, and has a GPA of 3.87.

Kat is equally as impressive in athletics where she has always been on Varsity Field Hockey (Capt), Track (miler), and Lacrosse. She has volunteered at the Falmouth Hospital Stroke Clinic, Falmouth Service Center, Falmouth Road Race and more. She is also an accomplished equestrian, and somehow also works at the Landfall.

Kat spoke to us about the life lessons learned caring for horses, particularly always having a clean bucket of water for your horse. She is going into her senior year with an eye on pre law or pre med and has visited Williams, Amherst, and Middlebury. All the best to you in your future endeavors.

Thanks again to Rich Edes - I may have to start paying royalties for using his writings!
